On Saturday April 30th our goal of renewing the tax millages was accomplished through the collective efforts of so many. Our Bossier Parish community spoke very loudly 4bossier schools, teachers, students & personnel when it voted YES across the board. We appreciate your continued support and trust in Bossier Parish Schools. Thank you for being a force for positive change in our community.

How to Help

  • March 30th is the deadline to register to vote in person, by mail, or at the Office of Motor Vehicles Office
  • April 9th is the deadline to register to vote via the GeauxVote Online Registration System
 
  • Early voting starts April 16 – April 23 (excluding Sunday April 17th) from 8:30 a.m.-6 p.m. at the Bossier Parish Courthouse or Bossier Parish Library History Center
  • April 30th is Election Day – Voting at your designated precinct will be open from 7 a.m.-8 p.m.
  • Proposition 1 (School Personnel): Renewal of 10.31 mills / $10,591,355 (estimated) 
  • Proposition 2 (School Maintenance): Renewal of 10.31 mills / $10,591,355 (estimated) 
  • Proposition 3 (Teachers Salaries & Benefits) Renewal of 26.57 mills / $27,295,026 (estimated)

The Bossier School System is a top-rated district and one of the fastest growing public school systems in north Louisiana and second in the entire state. 91.8% of all school age children in the parish attend a Bossier School.

98% of Bossier Parish teachers were ranked highly effective in 2020-21 and more than a third have a Masters degree or above

Bossier Schools Graduation rate is at an all-time high of 91.2%

Bossier Schools are nationally recognized for supporting military children and offering K-12 School of Choice to dependents living on Barksdale Air Force Base

Bossier students completed 1,241 Advanced Placement (AP) credit classes and clocked 5,769 hours of Dual Enrollment coursework in 2020-21

All funds from this proposition pay for a portion of the existing salaries and benefits earned by nearly 2,900 educators and support personnel such as librarians, bus operators, secretaries, School Resource Officers, and many others that support student learning, safety, and well-being.

Proposition 2: School Maintenance

All funds from this proposition are used to sustain the daily operations and maintenance of 45 schools and facilities that serve the children of Bossier Parish. This maintenance includes upkeep of mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems and repairs; flooring; painting; roofing repair and replacement; locks; construction; preventative maintenance. In addition, proceeds will pay for utilities, maintenance staff salaries, and their benefits.
